How It All Started
I met Nanda by chance a couple of years before I found my cabin. She was showing a similar property to another client, and we exchanged information. Two years later, out of the blue, I received an email from Nanda alerting me to an A-frame that had just come onto the market. I was so impressed that she kept me in mind for so long, and for that unique type of architecture. I love having her "on the ground" looking for new prospects for me.

The Concern
The fact that I wasn't able to drive around SLT was a part of the process that I missed. I love the hunt! I was very reliant on Zillow and Redfin, but nervous that I was missing out on a gem that wasn't listed. I also didn't really know the neighborhoods and which ones would be the most valuable or appealing. Having an expert to talk through all the local idiosyncrasies and regulations (such as whether I could potentially rent my property out) was essential to making the right decisions for me.

Absolutely, 100%! I am constantly on the market for another A-frame cabin to design and renovate, so I know that Nanda is always on the lookout. She understands and respects my aesthetic and thought process, so she won't waste my time with casting a wide net of generic homes. We have since looked at other houses together, and I never felt pressured to make an offer if it didn't feel right. Nanda allows me the time and space to dream, speculate and ultimately call the shots.

If you're considering buying a home, my advice would be to
"Make sure you connect with your Realtor... on more than just a transaction basis. Purchasing a first or second home is one of the greatest investments you'll ever make, so you need to trust the person. Tahoe has many second homes that haven't always been well maintained. So your representative needs to be trustworthy and understand quality. Do they respect your values, your priorities and your financial situation? Can you have tough conversations with them if the deal isn't going the way you want? Will they always be on your side? With Nanda, that's always the case.
