A Look Forward at December Events!
December is fast approaching, can you smell the Holidays in the air? If you're planning on spending the holidays in South Lake Tahoe, there will be a lot of options for entertainment around this time of the year. This is also the time when most of our Ski Resorts start opening. So pack up your gear and head to Tahoe, it's fun for the whole family! We've hand-picked some of our favorite events happening here on the South Shore this month just for you. Take a look below!
Heavenly Village Community Tree Lighting With Santa
When: Daily at 5pm
Where: Heavenly Village, Base of Gondola
Heavenly Holidays Community Christmas Tree Lighting in the Heavenly Village. Gather 'round as Santa lights our monstrous 70 feet, highly lighted, cut fir tree! The kick off ceremony will include: caroling, music and fun for all!
Tree lightings are daily at 5pm after November 29th.

Azul Tacos for TAP Night to Benefit Tahoe Arts Project
When: 12/02 at 5pm to 9pm
Where: Azul Latin Kitchen in the Heavenly Village
The Tahoe Arts Project will be the beneficiary of Azul Latin Kitchen's Tacos for TAP on Monday, December 2, 2019, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
There will be an "All You Can Eat Taco Bar," live music, a silent auction and a performance by the Marcia Sarosik Dancers. All of this for just $15 for each adult and $5 for kids under 12.
Tickets will be sold at the door.
Tahoe Arts Project (“TAP”) was established in 1987 to bring performing arts and cultural enrichment to schools in the South Lake Tahoe region in both Calif. & Nev.
Thunder From Down Under

Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation Breakfast for Dinner Fundraiser
When: 12/05 from 4:30pm to 7pm
Where: Ernie’s Cafe
A new holiday tradition is being offered by the Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation at their 2nd annual Breakfast for Dinner at Ernie's Coffee Shop on Thursday, December 5, 2019, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are available from any foundation board member (Nicole Bergner, Virginia Berry, Jerry Bindel, Chris Campion, Melinda Choy, Bob Comlossy, Beth Delacour, Tyler Fair, Micelle Feeney, Karen Goldberg, Brian Hogan, Ivone Larson, Matt Lucksinger, Joe Marzocco, Greg Ochoa, Cinnamon Pakes, Jeanette Riva, Kelly Shanahan, Harold Singer, Kathy Strain, and Belen Urratia).
You'll want to get your tickets early as they can sell out. Tickets are $10 (or $5 for a 1/2 order) and includes French toast, bacon or sausage, and a beverage. Be sure to bring cash for mimosas or specialty hot chocolate bar. Best part? WEAR YOUR PAJAMAS!
Meyers Annual Tree Lightning
When: 12/06 at 5pm to 7pm
Where: Divided Sky
On Friday, December 6, 2019, the Meyers Community Foundation (MCF) will hold the seventh annual Tree Lighting at 5 p.m. in the Divided Sky/Downtown Café parking lot. The MCF will serve popcorn, hot chocolate. This year, help reduce waste by bringing your own mug for hot cocoa!
The Christmas fire truck and Santa will return via the CALSTAR helicopter (weather and circumstance permitting). The event is free and open to the public.
The Meyers Community Foundation (MCF) is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to improving life in Meyers, California through its support and promotion of creative and sustainable local projects and community-enhancing events.
Annual Barton Foundation Festival of Trees and Lights
When: 12/06 - 12/08
Where: Harrah’s Lake Tahoe
A holiday tradition on the South Shore for the past ten years returns to help children and adults of all ages ring in the holiday season.
The seasonal celebration features events and entertainment including the Senior Stroll, Family Night, the Gala, and Teddy Bear Brunch.
Produced by the Barton Foundation to benefit community health, proceeds from this year's Festival support Barton’s Community Health Endowment and the Family Birthing Center at Barton Memorial Hospital.
Heavenly Holidays Breakfast with Santa
When: December 7th, 14th and 21st
Where: Fire and Ice Restaurant
Saturdays, December 7th, 14th, and 21st – Seatings at 8:00 am & 9:30 am Admission Kids $10. Adults $15. Location: Fire and Ice Restaurant. Photos and access to Mrs. Claus and Santa are included with the purchase of an interactive breakfast at Fire and Ice Restaurant, located in the Heavenly Village. Seeing is believing! Bring the whole family to mingle with Santa, take photos, and enjoy one of the heartiest breakfasts the village has to offer!
Space is limited so don't wait to purchase a ticket. Admission is $10 per child and $15 per adult.
Mat Kearney at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe

Years before he toured the world as a platinum selling, boundary-breaking artist, Mat Kearney grew up in Eugene, Oregon. It was during those teenage years that he developed his love for classic songwriting — the kind that transcends generations and genres.
Much has changed since those days in the Pacific Northwest. Even so, Kearney hasn’t forgotten his musical roots. On his fifth album, CRAZYTALK, he mixes his most timeless songwriting to date with a wide, genre-bending set of interests. Comedian T.J. Miller at MontBleu Resort Casino

T.J. Miller is an American actor, stand-up comedian, producer, and writer. In 2008, he made his acting debut in Cloverfield and from 2010 to 2014, he voiced Tuffnut Thorston in the first two How to Train Your Dragon films. From 2014 to 2017, he starred as Erlich Bachman in the HBO sitcom Silicon Valley and also played Marvel Comics character Weasel in 2016's Deadpool and its 2018 sequel, Deadpool 2. Miller also has had roles in films such as Yogi Bear, She's Out of My League, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Big Hero 6, Office Christmas Party, The Emoji Movie and Ready Player One.

Heavenly Holidays reach their zenith on New Year’s Eve when fire, lights, and music fill the air. 2:00 pm - 9:30 pm, Live music on the Main Stage, and at 9:00 p.m., in time for the midnight Ball Drop in New York City’s Time Square, Heavenly’s Gondola Ball Drop will cross above the crowd, and a fabulous fireworks show will light up the night. MS Dixie II will begin celebrating the New Year at 6:00 pm and returning at 9:00 pm from Zephyr Cove Resort, Lake Tahoe. The cost of the cruise is $165 for adults and $85 for children.
