A Look Forward at October Events!

October in Tahoe means cooler mornings and nights, Fall Colors, Pumpkin Carving, Hiking, and of course lots of events to look forward to! We've highlighted just a few of this month's best events coming to the South Shore below!

Styx at Harrah's Lake Tahoe
When: 10/5
Where: Harrah's Casino 
What: Styx is an American rock band formed in 1970 from Chicago that became famous for its albums released in the mid-1970s and early 1980s. They are best known for melding the style of pop rock with the power of hard rock guitar, strong ballads and elements of international musical theater.

Fall Fish Fest-Kokanee Salmon Run
When: 10/6-10/7
Where: Taylor Creek Visitor Center
What: The Festival is a two-day event held each fall.  The Festival celebrates the dramatic and colorful spawning behaviors of the Kokanee Salmon, where a close-up look at this natural display is available in Taylor Creek and the Stream Profile Chamber. The Festival is a family event encouraging participation by children and their parents in a wide variety of educational and entertaining events.  Back this year will be the Salmon Feed, children’s activities, educational programs and booths, stream-side programs, a children’s run, 5k, 10k, and half-marathon trail runs

Oktoberfest Lake Tahoe
When: 10/7
Where: Camp Richardson Resort
What: Oktoberfest Activities include German food and desserts, an owner and dog dress up contest, craft booths, face painting, pumpkin patch, balloon art, bouncy house, bungee platform, climbing wall, live music, and the event’s ever popular beer and wine garden. Other contests during the two-day festival range from beer stein holding to yodeling, with winners receiving gift certificates for food, activities and lodging at the resort. Food and beer can be purchased with Camp Richardson’s Oktoberfest tickets that are on sale behind the hotel at the event. Entry and parking are free.

Lake Tahoe Marathon 
When: 10/12-10/14
Where: Lake Tahoe Basin
What: October 12 - 14, 2018. Run, jog, or walk your way to this premier three-day running festival, attracting thousands of athletes and visitors each year. You'll find a range of events for everyone from the casual runner to the fanatic including a 5K, 10K, Half Marathons, 16.6-Miler, Marathons, Ultras and the famous Triple Marathon and Triple Half Marathon Trifecta! Arguably the most beautiful marathon in the world, this is one race you won't want to miss!

US Navy Blue Angels Aviation Performance 
When: 10/13-10/14
Where: Minden-Tahoe Airport
What: Events will begin at ten in the morning each day and last until five and include a full day of family fun for a small price. Tickets are on sale now and spectators are encouraged to buy tickets in advance.

South Lake Tahoe Food & Wine Festival 
When: 10/26-10/28
Where: Harrah's & Harvey's Lake Tahoe
What: The ninth annual South Lake Tahoe Food and Wine Festival arrives at Harrah's Lake Tahoe, October 26 - 28, for an autumn Masquerade weekend filled with mystery, fine dining, fantasy, and delicious spirits!

Freaker's Ball 2018
When: 10/27
Where: MontBleu Resort & Casino
What: Get a little wicked this Halloween. Lake Tahoe’s MontBleu Resort presents the 40th Annual Freakers Ball Halloween Party on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Tickets, which are $30 if purchased in advance, $35 if purchased the week of, and $40 if purchased the day of the Ball, give guests access to two parties.
